So if any of you know Skylar she is a nut! She is so goofy and has so much personality it's rediculous! She is a busy body too and has been a climber since she could walk before she turned one. Just to give you a glimpse at how silly this kid is here is a pic of her on demand fishy face and a video of her climbing into her bed. We love this kid so much. Seriously, what a nut! Sorry the video is blurry! It's from my sister's phone! But you get the gist!

Wow! Where to begin! I know I should totally be reprimanded with how often I don't update my blog, but give me a break. I don't sit at the computer very often and when I do I'm limited on the amount of time I do sit at it. So now to update you all as to what's been going on around the Stapley home. Well for starters I'm glad it's practically Spring now. I just wish mother nature would make up her mind about whether or not it should be warm or sike everyone out and be cold still. I feel like I have to keep pulling out the winter clothes when I am aching to put them completely away. I am glad, though Brad may not be, that there will be no more snowmobile trips this season. Don't get me wrong, I love to go when we go, but as often as Brad likes to go, I'm burned out! We didn't really do much for spring break this year cause Brad and I did our share of vacations now for the next who knows how long with Hawaii and all. So the kids and I hung out here in the rain. Yes, that's right, the whole time. Not so much fun when I have four bored kids who would have rather been outside.
My brothers turned 12 in the middle of March and towards the end of March were ordained as Deacons. That was pretty neat. It definitely makes me feel old even though I'm not. Easter was fun! Some of guys in Brad's family went to Priesthood Sat. evening and the girls went to a cute movie. We decided to go see a chick flick "The Last Song" since those are usually the movies we have to see on our own anyways, if you know what I mean girls! We had a good time cleaning house at the Roberts Ladies' Night. Who says the whole group couldn't win something? Yes that's right, we all go our names drawn! What are the chances? Easter Sunday was full of hunts, food, listening to conference, and more food. It was lots of fun! I think the girls especially enjoyed what the Easter bunny brought.
As you can see, not too much has happened but in a way, we seem to stay busy! Thanks so much for not giving up on me!

Hawaii, baby!

So I know I have been out of touch and the time gets longer and longer until I finally post, but I am sorry. I need to make this a little bit bigger priority. But I just thought I'd let you all know that Brad and I just got back from Hawaii! We went there with my sister Brianna and her husband Owen. We had so much fun! Yes we missed the kids but it was so nice not to have to worry about what to do with them and keeping them entertained the whole time. Instead we enjoyed the 10 days with just us. Thank you so much Erika, Mom and Dad (Stapley), Shanell, and my friend Shay. You guys were so awesome to step in and help take care of the girls while we were gone. Thank you, thank you!

To begin our adventure, we caught a plane on Jan. 20th from St. George to SLC @ 10am and met up with Brianna and Owen to fly the remainder of the route straight to Oahu. We stayed in Waikiki for the first 3 days. During those days we visited the North end of the island where we passed right by the Dole Pineapple plantation (which btw has the most tasty Pineapple sherbet ever!), we briefly visited the temple because it's been under complete rennovation and will continue to be until the summer sometime, then continued on to the PCC. We decided to stay for the luau and show and it was worth staying the evening for. It's one of those places you have to go atleast once but then you're good! We also took the opportunity to visit Pearl Harbor and shop at the famous Aloha Stadium Swap Meet.

Then the other part of our adventure began. We flew to Maui on the 23rd and as far as we're concerned, we were a whole lot more impressed by the beauty of this island over Oahu. Between Jan-Mar is Whale season and the whales are so common during this time that was saw them everywhere we went right off the coast. Maui was more like what you envision Hawaii to be, with just enough conveniences yet the right amount of remoteness. We stayed in a town called Lahaina on the west side of Maui. We rented a car and cute two room condo for a week. It was nice to not be too far away from places to eat. If any of you know Brad, no matter where we go, our vacations always revolve around food, so this town was perfect! One of the first things we did was sign up with a bike tour that takes you to the top of the volcano(dormant) Haleakala (means "house of the sun" because they say it looks like to sun comes right out of the volcano) at 4am to watch the sun rise then we hopped on bikes and coasted down the mountain for about 24 miles.
It was beautiful but freezing at the top.
One day we drove on the famous road to Hana. This is a small, winding road that takes you along the back side of Haleakala where there is lush Rainforest. We were in hopes to see some large waterfalls, but the rainy season over there (which was then) is sort of in a drought, but who knew! we did see a couple of waterfalls, at some super good, warm banana bread in a small village, and hiked over lava tubes.

Another day we went on a snorkel boat which ended up being a whale and dolphin watch as well. We saw whales all over the place and large pods of dolphins. The captain sailed us out to the island of Lana'i to snorkel in a few spots.

It was a long boat ride but it was fun. Later we found a hike called the swinging bridges that takes you to a waterfall and a natural pool. That was really neat.

The rest of our time there we pretty much snorkeled, ate, shopped, chilled, and drove around.

The final day we went snorkeling and I finally got to see a turtle up close. I was literally within inches. Loved it!! We had so much fun!

So we decided to finally get some long awaited family pictures taken. What a challenge that is to get a family of girls ready. I asked my sister-in-law if she wouldn't mind and she said that she'd be happy to. We ended up getting some pretty cute pics after all the drama and miss-haps! Thanks again so much Lisa for taking the time and being so accomadating. I know it's not easy to get that many little ones to cooperate but it worked out. Some of the pics she took that I love are posted right here. I had a little fun myself doing some photoshoppin'.

Halloween (and the rest in between)

I know I am a total slacker but I guess if I say I'm only making monthly posts than I'm not doing too bad! I know that's a lame excuse but I'll try to do better. So here goes for the Halloween week of events. It all started with Brinly's school carnival the week before Halloween. Brinly had a fun little first grade music performance and I had to sit at and monitor a booth for four hours! yeah!!!
Brad and I were invited to a fun Halloween party by some friends of ours. We dressed up as Padame and Anikan Skywalker from the recent Star Wars Trilogy. This is the first year that Brad has dressed up in the ten years we've known each other. I think he had fun, too! Then the Monday before "H" Brad's parents invited the family over for a spooky surprise dinner party.

We had a ward trunk-or-treat on Tuesday, dance parties on Tues & Thurs, & of course school parties on Friday. We did manage to get our pumpkins carved on Thursday Night just in time for Halloween Night.Brinly's teacher Mrs. Shober was a toothfairy. She has a little boy friend named Chase who dressed up as Luke Skywalker and I just had to take a picture of Luke and Princess Laia. Brinly also had a picture with one of her friends in her class named Olivia the "cowgirl". Here are Brooklin and Madison at their school with their teacher Mrs. Keri. The girls had a little performance and parade but Madi got a little shy.
Finally Halloween Night came and the girls got to go trick or treating. Wow by then they were almost Halloweened out! My sister and her family came into town and we hung with them all night. We had fun but I am glad it's over until next year, right!

What's been happenin'

So to start out this month we celebrated our twins' birthday! (And we can't forget Aunt Chantel's birthday either!) Yes that's right, Brooklin and Madison are four! I know! It's a little hard to believe myself. We had a fun party for them. It was their first official friend party and I don't know what I was thinking. We rented a bouncehouse for the back and just let a bunch of 3 and 4 year olds run around in our backyard. It wasn't too bad until I realized we had almost 25 of them in our back yard. Great fun! That's all I have to say. Then of course we had to do a little family party as well so we decided to take the girls to Pirate Island Pizza. We had never been there and what an experience it turned out to be. If you haven't been there it's definitely worth going there atleast once even if it's just for the atmosphere.

For Labor Day, my sister Brianna and her husband Owen invited us to come spend the weekend at Lake Powell. They live there so it makes it convenient to stay at their place and not have to camp with all of our junk. So we took Brad's parents boat out and had a blast (thanks btw, Mom and Dad!) We were a little hesitant at first because of the weather but it all worked out.

The first day we all drove out to the Grand Canyon South Rim to get the "view". If you haven't been there it is breathtaking, but I feel like I need to hike down to the bottom after we had driven all the way down there for just the view then to turn around and drive all the way home again. The expereince though, right? It ended up being pretty chilly and stormy so we were glad we didn't go onto the lake. The next two days we practically lived on the lake and had a ball.

Brooklin and Madison had their first day of preschool on September 9th and loved it. They have a ball with Mrs. Keri!

The highlight for the month though will have to be just this last weekend when we had the opportunity to go to California, go to Disneyland, and lounge in the sweetest beach house ever! Brad's parents treated the family to a fun vacation in a beach house in Oceanside. We were literally a rock skipping distance away from the ocean and the beach. We took the kids to Dineyland with Devan and Shanell on the day that the rest of the family were heading down. Then we spent the weekend at the beach. It was so nice to to have to worry about where to be by when. Thanks Mom and Dad for the awesome weekend!

Wow! Where do I begin? First of all, like anyone else's summer, we have just been doing one thing after another. I really don't know where the summer went really. Since the last post my sister has officially moved in, I went to girls camp, Brad and I went to Florida for a week, swim lessons, Ethan's baby blessing, camping, going to Lake Powell (only for a day!), and Brinly started school on Aug. 10th. Phew! I know that was a little short, but in a nutshell that's been our summer! Here are some pics!

Just this last weekend we went camping up on Beaver Mountain and went on some fun four wheelin' rides. Brianna and Owen came with their family, my sister Erika(the one that lives with us) and her friend Bridger(Owen's brother) came and we just all had a grand ole' time! We got filthy! Thanks for comin'! It was lots of fun!

Here's just a little update as to what we have been up to since our last post. We went to Idaho for a family reunion with my dad's side of the family (Graham Reunion). We had so much fun thanks to Uncle Steve, Uncle Gary and Fam, and Uncle Dave and Aunt Brenda, (thanks to everyone else as well). We were always doing something from Geo cashing, playing at the park, observing water falls, playing games, going to a bouncing gym (like Jumpin' Jacks), going river rafting, staying up 'til all hours talking, and of course lots of eating! Ten days after that reunion, headed to Beaver for our annual Stapley Family Reunion. But a few days before that, Skylar came down with some sort of horrible rash that we think was an allergic reaction to something she either ate or something she put in her mouth. Needless to say after four days of a continual rash always changing, fevers and lots of itching, it finally just went away, just in time for the reunion up at the mountain. Which bytheway, mom and dad, was a hit. We were always doing something here as well. Friday evening upon arrival Jake's uncle let the family view ICE AGE Dawn of the Dinosaurs at the cutest theatre ever in the town of Beaver. So cute and funny btw! Thanks Jake and Chantel for making that happen! The next morning (THE 4TH OF JULY)started the day of events with a little treasure hunt with gps', bottle rocket making then launching (thanks to Aaron and Lisa and Lisa's Dad for the connection with the launcher!), crafts with the kids during the annual shotgun shoot (congratulations to Brandon Roper for winning and representing the Rasmussen Family), lots of eating, visiting, and playing lawn golf! We have definitely been busy with family and more family! Pictures to come!

I just wanted to let my honey know how much I love and appreciate all that he does for me and our family. It's hard to believe that we have been married for 9 years! I used to think people were crazy when they said that time goes by so fast, but I am proved wrong with everyday! 9 years has come and gone and yet it seems only a memory! I couldn't imagine my life any different! I am thankful for our four beautiful girls that we have had together. Everyday I look at you and am more and more in love with you than the first day I knew you were the one for me.

Some things I love about my Husband:
-I love watching him chew on his tongue when he is focusing on something.
-I love watching him play with our girls.
-I love that he loves to take our family to the mountain to go snow mobiling and four wheelin'!
-I love that he doesn't complain when I go and do stuff (even though sometimes I give him a hard time! I'm sorry!)
-I love that he doesn't put pressure on me to be the perfect housewife!
-I love that when I look at him and he gets a half shy smile and says, "what?!"
-I love that he is usually pretty good about doing things around the house that I ask him to do.
-I love that even though I tell him not to get me flowers he always seems to surprise me with them!
Brad, I love you and can't wait for what's to come!

Happy Birthday Skylar!

Happy Birthday to our little Sweet Pea Skylar. We can't hardly believe she is one already. She has been such the little addition to our growing family. We have enjoyed this first year we have had with her and will continue to for many more to come. It's just so sad how fast time flies. Skylar, I must say, had quite the time with her first birthday cake. She has been the only one out of our girls to go to town with it! And she literally went to town with it!

Skylar, we love you and we love watching the new things you learn to do. You have quite the silly personality. Things we want to remember about Skylar:

-When she smiles she squints her eyes and does kind of a nosey air laugh and bounces.(I'm not quite sure how else to describe it.)
-She is taking more and more steps on her own. She'll be fully walking any time now.
-All she has to do is squeel and point and she gets what she wants! -She loves her binky unless there is food and then the bink comes out.
-She sleeps really well as long as she has her fuzzy blanket, her binkie, and a sippy cup.
-She loves macaroni and cheese and peanut butter/jelly sandwiches.
-She is a lovey/snuggly baby! You can pick her up and she'll instantly lay her head on your shoulder.
-She loves to pull at my dangly earrings.
-She loves to play with her sisters as long as they don't poke at her too much. She'll just let them know when to stop by screamin'/yellin' at them.
-She loves her big sister Brinly to carry her around. (well as long as she takes her to mom)
-She loves to swing (our other girls took a little longer to like park swings) She is such a good baby and we love and enjoy her so much.

I know it's been almost two weeks since she graduated but this is my little sis. Erika who isn't so little any more. She is the fifth of us girls! It just doesn't seem like it should be that time already!
This is half of us with the exception of my sister Brianna and her family and sister Elicia and her Family and of course my husband Brad who had to work! We did have a few extras in the pic. My very tall and beautiful cousin Andrea and her husband and our sweet Grandma Lila. I hope it turned out to be awesome for you Erika! Congrats and goodluck with more new adventures! First one being moving in with us! That'll be an adventure in and of itself I'm sure!

Girls' Dance recital

So the girls had their year end dance recital last weekend. They have all improved so much even since Christmas. It definitely made it a long day but it was fun and my parents came down to watch them for the first time. The girls loved it! Thanks for making the effort Mom and Dad! So Brinly Graduated from Kindergarten last Monday! She still has school through this coming Friday but they actually did the whole cap and gown thing and a diploma. Kind of silly if you ask me but the teachers wanted us as parents to make the day a big deal! I guess it will hopefully give them that much more motivation to do well in school so they can look forward to graduating high school and so on! It was fun! Congrats Brinly for doing so well this year! Keep up the great reading!

I know you are all probably wondering if we fell off the face of the earth and well I wish I could say that so then maybe I could have a better excuse as to why on earth we haven't posted in quite some time! Need I say more? For me time has been going by so quickly that I hardly have enough time in a day to get things done! Easter came and went, and now May is already a week over! Brinly graduates from Kindergarten this coming Monday! (I didn't know that it was such a big deal to graduate Kindergarten until now!) One year down how many more to go?! Brinly finally lost her first tooth! I swear that thing has been loose for almost three months now and Brinly was so not wanting to play with it at all. Instead she would just complain about it hurting when she would bite down on it. So Sunday night I told her she needed to work harder at it because it was turning brown. No one believed me that it was that loose until I got my fingers on it and we played and wiggled it for a minute or two and then I heard the pop! out it came and Brinly was slightly stunned and kept licking it because of how weird she thought it felt. We were all pretty excited. !
So she had her first experience with the toothfairy and all. Yeah!!! But at the same time it's a bitter sweet feeling cause that just means she's growing up that much more

Go Cubs, Go! Go Cubs, Go!

So I know it's been a little while since I've last posted. I thought I'd let you know how spring break went. Most of you know that we went to Phoenix for Spring break to enjoy a little of our annual Cubs Spring Training Baseball experience. First of all 91 degrees is what we enjoyed or lack there of. We went to a couple of games, did some shopping, lots of eating, more shopping and lots of driving. All in all we had a really fun time. Brad and I drove down with the kids Wednesday morning. We drove through Vegas because we heard that route was faster! not exactly! The dam was cool and the new bridge they are constructing was fascinating but to drive 4.5 miles in 1.5 hours not so fascinating! Needless to say, our 6 hour trip turned into over eight hours because of that, construction in various spots, and rush hour that we would have missed had we been through Phoenix 2 hours earlier. The trip was well worth it though. Mom and Dad joined us Thursday night to finish out the rest of the weekend. We enjoyed having them with us except they might rethink sharing a suite with us next time because the girls wanted to be right in their room with them and couldn't understand why they could not follow them into the bathroom. Yeah so there is no privacy in our home! Good luck!

So this weekend I got talked into going snowmobiling up in Beaver. I was reluctant at first because well, four kids says it all! But I thought that we needed to get some pictures of the kids in the snow before there is no more snow. Needless to say we went and had a great time for the most part. The girls were all troopers especially Skylar since she is at our mercy. We ran into one little mishap with her and red/cold feet but we got things under control and everything was fine after that. We spent the day with Brad's brother Aaron and his wife Lisa (that is definitely going to take some getting used to!) and there friends Eric and Dallas (also known as Derek and Alice). So the girls get a little confused sometimes! Eric and Dallas are good sports about it though. Lots of fun!Skylar falling asleep on the ride up to the cabin.

So Last week became a first for Skylar. She learned to crawl! It's kind of a bitter sweet for me because I don't want her to grow up. This year is already flying by so quickly. But what can you do? It's fun to watch her learn and discover new things. She is into everything now, and before we know it she'll be walking! Aahhhh!

As Some of you may know we attended a wedding this weekend and the all day festivities. Aaron and Lisa are married! Yeah!!! The ceremony was at 10 am on Saturday and was wonderful of course. The Luncheon followed at 1 pm, then family pics @ 5pm and reception from 7-9 pm. What a day, but it was well worth it. We are so happy for these two and we hope they are excited to close that chapter and begin a new one. Here ar some pics:

So I have been way excited because I am learning how to use Photoshop Elements and it has been super fun ( a little time consuming but fun). I think it's mostly because I am still learning all the ins and outs but it has been fun learning by trial and error. Don't worry scrapbookers, I haven't betrayed you. I still like to scrapbook old fashion style but this will allow me to scrap those enormous amounts of fun family pictures taken at special events without having to cut and back so many pics now I'll be able to condense a lot of pics into a two page layout! Yeah! That's one thing I've been up to, the other thing I have been up to lately is organizing my closets, office and laundry room. My little (not so little any more) sister Erika is going to come live with us when she graduates and I have to make room for her. I know some of you are thinking I'm crazy, but I am excited for her to start a new chapter in her life and I hope we can make that experience pleasant! I guess this is when having 4 girls makes it semi easy to put them all into one room for a little while! We'll see how that works. I better get back to cleaning I still have lots to do! Wish me luck!

So I know it's been a little while since I last posted besides Brad's post the other day. He was feeling like we needed to add something. I figured if he starts to wonder whether or not I'm ever going to get another post up than it's been some time. So sorry about that. You know, I totally thought once I had the holidays behind me I could get into a routine again. Well too bad for that thought because once the holidays left the showers and weddings had to begin. Not that I don't welcome either of these events but come on people one after the other? Just kidding! I do enjoy going and planning these things. I have had a few baby showers to attend. There have been a lot of boys (congrats bytheway!) but I need to see a few more girls just because girls are what I do! Towels, bracelets, binki holders, bows, blankets, etc. Boys on the otherhand aren't my specialty partly because what fun things do you make boys? (suggestions?) My friend Miriam just had a shower last week and I'm so excited for her to join in on the fun with girls! Besides the four or five baby showers I've attended, We just got back from a wedding reception for Brad's cousin Lisa and now there is a wedding shower coming up for our soon to be sister in law Lisa! I know it seems like forever ago, but yes Aaron finally is allowing Lisa to get wedding plans into gear. We are so excited for them! So Shanell, Mom and I are throwing Lisa a shower for all her friends and family down here. That should be fun! Then we'll be celebrating their marriage next weekend (you guessed it Valentine's Day!). They will definitely never forget their anniversary. Lots of fun. So once again, I am sorry I haven't posted until now, but I promise that I will get back into blogging asap!

So Brinly finally turned six yesterday. It seems like she has waited an awful long time to reach this mile stone since all of her friends are already six. We have practically celebrated Brinly's birthday all month long. Between her little friend birthday party, getting sung in Primary a week early, taking cupcakes to school, dance parties, and a family party, phew. I still think those few years have gone by way too fast even though she doesn't seem to think so.
She is such a great helper when she wants to be. She loves playing with friends. Her new favorite thing to do is jump on the new trampoline she got for her birthday (atleast when the weather permits). She loves her sisters and has taken on quite the role as being big sister to Skylar. She loves to draw and color. She does really well in school and is learning to read! She loves dance and playing barbies with her sisters. We love you Brinly! Happy Birthday Brinly!

Dance Recital

This last Saturday, the girls performed in their Christmas Dance recital. This year was Brooklin and Madison's first so it was a little scary and exciting for both of them. First of all, I can't wait for Brinly to learn how to do her own hair (nuf said). Three girls in curlz and makeup! Anyway, I was glad I atleast had Brad to help get the girls' costumes on. Needless to say we were about 10 minutes late to rehearsal, but just in time for the girls to go up on stage to practice their number once before the main event. I walked Brooklin and Madison behind stage and thought that was a piece of cake until, Maddie started falling apart and would not for the life of me dance on the stage. She bald and her teacher had to hold her the whole time. So I'm thinking great! The recital was about to start and of all days she had to fall apart now! Well after much coaxing, bartering, and hugs and chats from mom, dad and grandparents, Maddie finally went to sit with her class to perform.
It just so happened that Brooklin and Madison were placed right next to each other and right next to their cousin Taylee so it worked out perfect for the cameras and the photographers. Brinly was born to perform and pose. She did great and it was nice to see her do a little more than just hand motions and blown kisses. The girls were beautiful and all did so well! We are so proud of them.

The Black Friday Chaos

Well to start off I told myself I was not going to be one of those crazy people getting up at 0'dark thirty just to save while beating people to the punch and standing in rediculously long lines. After telling myself that, I reluctantly decided I was going to go to JoAnn's Friday morning in hopes to save some money on a project I'm working on for Christmas. I was only going there and I was going early enough that hopefully I would not have to stand in line so long. I made the mistake though, of opening up the newspaper Thanksgiving day to check out the "deals". Why???????? Of course the words "sale" and "Best Buy" tend to do something to a person's brain (me) and I get curious. Mistake! Next thing I knew I was planning my morning out and how on earth I was going to be able to get what I wanted, how I was going to make the opening on time to each place, and weighing out whether or not it would be worth it. I ended up getting up at 4:30 am to make it to Wal-mart by 5am to get what I wanted, get in a line as fast as possible and check out before I had to be to JoAnn's by 6am just to find that even with only 6 people in front of me, I ended up waiting in line longer than the entire time I was in Walmart, with that many more people mind you. Then on the drive home, I got to thinking about my receipt from Walmart and realized I got charged more than the "deal" I thought I went for. So before 8 am I strolled in to walmart yet again, only this time to stand in line at the return booth to get a price adjustment. Then come to find out that the product I bought was not the exact product on sale (difference only being the box!) so I just about had every manager called up and customers next to me on my side analyzing the "deal" between the ad and the product in hand. Can I tell you I was so frustrated after that, even though they fixed it for me, that I had to go home and have a nap. I'm not so sure I will do that again, but every year seems to suck me in! What the heck!!!

So yesterday was my wonderful husband's birthday. We went to a cabin this weekend and just chilled. It was nice not to worry about much at all and enjoy the quiet. Well as much quiet as we could get with four kids that is. Nonetheless, it was nice. We stayed one night up in East Zion and came back late afternoon yesterday. We had dinner with Brad's family and celebrated Brad's birthday with his favorite cake (homemade German Choc.) with ice cream and opened a few gifts. I hope you had a good birthday, hun! I love you!

The weekend

So this weekend was a little crazy for me. It all started with a Relief Society Visiting Teaching Conference our ward decided to put on. I was asked to sing in a group at it so off I went to that at 8:15am-10 am. Then I had to pick my kids up at my neighbors house cause they so graciously offered to watch the three older girls until I got home (Brad was working). I went to go pick the kids up and my sweet neighbor told me her husband had to take their oldest daughter to her tennis lessons and that I needed to hurry and pick the girls up, but when I got there as soon as I found that out, no one was home. Poor Iuri had taken his four kids and my three clear to Ivins to drop Aydia off. So I had to wait for him to get back so I could take Brinly out to her school carnival by 10:45am. He got back just in time for me to pick the girls up and drive out to her school which is about an 8 min. drive from home. ! Her Kindergarten class was performing a few little chants they had been learning. Then I needed to go volunteer at the bounce house booth for an hour. My wonderful mother & father-in-law showed up to watch Brinly and to help take the girls around for the hour that I had to be at the booth. Thank you, thank you again!They left and I took the kids around to a few more booths until I was worn out and Skylar had had it. We left around 2:30pm just in time to lay the girls down for a nap before our wards trunk-or-treat @ 6pm. Brad got home from work around 5:30pm and I was madly waking kids up and getting them all dressed up for the party. Good thing a little mascara isn't as challenging as all over face paint. The girls turned out really cute and thanks to Brad for getting Skylar ready while I finished with the girls.
After the party, we took the kids to pick up pizza, came home and ate, bathed the girls for church the next day & put them to bed. Phew!!! Then it was time to finish my lesson for YW! What a day!!

Where did our baby go? Why do they have to grow so fast. We are enjoying every minute with her but I wish she could slow down a bit.

Trip to Zion

I know this has been two weeks in the making, but cut me some slack. Four kids, YW lessons, scrapbook club, making costumes, canning, and whatever else, has been keeping me a little preoccupied. So here are some pics of a couple weekends ago from a family trip we took to East Zion. It was so much fun. We stayed in this beautiful cabin at this resort and just hung out really. Most of Brad's family was there. We scrapbooked, went four wheeling, played games, ate and chilled! I really need to work on getting my camera out before the end of the trip.

Last Saturday was one of the first weekends we have actually spent at home with nothing planned. It was nice to just chill (since I don't really know how to do that too well)! We decided to

go swimming down at Mom & Dad Stapley's house. The water was a little chilly but it felt nice to

cool off. Skylar wasn't quite sure what to think but she was a trooper like she always is. Brooklin, Madison, and Brinly just love going in and out and jumping off the Rock. Aaron and Lisa joined us for a little while too. Lisa was mostly behind the camera and it took Aaron a little while to get in cause the water was a little chilly at first.

She is attending George Washington Academy ( a newer Charter School in the fields). We thought we would try it out and see if Brinly likes it or not. So far the first couple of days have been good for her.

Skylar's Blessing

We blessed Skylar this weekend and now that it's over I feel like a lot of added stress has been lifted. Aahhh! The weekend was nice. Our yard got finished just in time (thanks to our neighbor James Dotson). Brianna strolled in town by Sat. afternoon and ran last minute errands with me before Sunday. Elicia and Kris and their two kids showed up that night, and my mom, dad and two of my other sisters (Sierra and Shawna) came but got in town just before they had to be to Tuacahn to watch Les Miserables (which I heard is wonderful and we need to go see it)! We had church at 9am on Sunday, and had a great turn out with family and friends (thanks for all the support)! Brad gave an absolutely beautiful and sweet blessing to Skylar. Don't tell any one, but I love when Brad shows his sensitive side. It makes me love him even more. Thanks hun for that wonderful blessing you gave our fourth little girl. We had lots of people at our home for a luncheon. I am so glad that Chantel and Jake were also able to make it down, as well as everyone else who made it that I have not mentioned.

So the 24th was pretty low key for us besides the fact that we were trying to finish our back yard landscaping for Skylar's blessing that weekend. We invited Devan and Shanell over for a small BBQ then decided to go swimming at Papa and Grandma's before we went to watch fireworks.

Grandma and Papa were in Chicago having a fun time watching a Cubs baseball game that day so they weren't there. We went and picked Grandma-Great up so she could watch the fireworks with us.
The kids sure did have a lot of fun. Thanks for comin' with us Devan, Shanell and Taylee and Grandma-Great. It would not have been as fun without you guys!

Brinly's swimming lessons

Brinly started swimming lessons for the first time on the 14th thru the 25th. She was so excited to be finally starting them since the summer is almost over. What the heck took me so long? I guess it was the fact that I was pregnant and due in the middle of June and just wasn't up to running Brinly (with all of the girls) to lessons just yet. But needless to say, she finally got to go to swimming lessons atleast once this summer. She did so well that next time she'll be able to advance to the next level. Yah!!

Convention in Vegas

After the 4th, we went to Vegas for the annual Mckesson Convention. The final night event was a dinner and concert with LeAnn Rimes. We're not quite sure how well the girls enjoyed that, but I got to hear a few songs before the girls got too worn out!

Julianne- She is our Bishops wife. She is and has always been so sweet to have Brinly over to play. You know, it's hard to believe that Skylar is already a week old. You carry them for what seems to be so long, waiting their arrival and all they do is don't quit growing once they're out. I am relishing in these few moments I have her at this size. This is my favorite stage. Even though it can be a lot of repeated work, I wish this little stage lasted a little longer. It definitely doesn't help when she came out almost 9 lbs either. We love her just the same and are glad that she is here and healthy.
So I'm not a professional here by any means but I had a little fun when I was alone for the weekend. Although, it's a little challenging to keep the baby in a position long enough to take a picture at the same time while she's slipping off the pillow that was propping her up and the back drop is sliding with her. We had great fun and atleast got a couple pics.

The Newest Addition to the Brad & Jana Stapley Family

We would like to let everyone know that all is well at the Stapley Home now that our sweet baby girl is here! Skylar Alizabeth Stapley came two days late, but she is healthy and everything went perfect! She was born at 2:44pm on Saturday, June 14, 2008. She weighed in at a whoppin' 8 lbs 14 oz and was 21 in long. She is definitely a healthy baby.
Brinly, Brooklin & Madison are such proud and protective big sisters. Brad is the proud daddy of four girls (man that's weird to say). As for me, I'm a little sore and swollen, but the wait was well worth it.
We hope everything is well with everyone. Thanks for all the peps, walks, and advice. They eventually all paid off too! Everyone has been so supportive. Thanks!

So close yet seems so far!

So I am getting so close it's getting a little nerve racking. I believe I have tried just about everything that people have suggested and still no baby yet! Contractions are present but for once I am wishing they were painful! I hope the baby is just waiting until the doctor is back in town and then she will decide to come. Who knows. Until then I still wake up super uncomfortable and sore but not in a lot of pain. Brad keeps waiting for a phone call at work or some startling noise in the middle of the night to make him fly out of bed! It's kind of funny that even he is a little jumpy and on edge lately. Anyways, wish us luck and I hope she decides to come before Father's Day or our Anniversary. We need a little space between some of these events.

Brinly's Dance Recital

So Saturday we spent the day taking Brinly to her rehearsal, recital and then the after party. I wish her class didn't seem so juvanile but then I also have to remember that she is only five! We got this new digital camera that we can take video with. It seemed to do a pretty good job considering it's really more for stills. Brinly did a great job! She has some pretty cute little friends that she has been in dance with for 2 & 1/2 years.

I think though that it is definitely time for an advancement. I'm looking into singing dance group that Brinly might enjoy. We'll see!
Brooklin and Madison can't seem to wait to start dance though. They'll be starting in the fall when they turn three.

Okay, so I know everyone is probably getting sick of my periodic count down, but wholy Cow, I'm not that far away! I may go over which will make my counting down pointless, but either way I'm getting closer! Wish me luck for a normal, healthy delivery. I'm really wanting to avoid another C-section if I can help it. The only thing is I have to go 100% on my own. No inductions! Yeah me. I need all the luck and crossed fingers I can get though. I hope all is well with everyone too, now that Summer break is here. Where did that time go?

Memorial Weekend

So as most of you know Brad has been wanting a certain toy for quite some time now. Well he finally got his toy and couldn't wait to take it out and get it dirty. He had also been planning on going to Beaver Mountain for this particular weekend in hopes that I wouldn't go into labor. Lucky for me I didn't);
So here is a picture of our new toy. It's the blue one with the roll bars. It's a lot bigger in real life. Brad couldn't wait to see if it would fit through the narrow trails of back country Beaver Mountain.
We successfully made it! We went on an excursion with Aaron, Lisa and their friends Eric and Dallas and of course the girls all strapped in the back of our Rhino.

There is this cute little lake completely hidden deep in the trees just above the cabin property.
The girls were having so much fun they fell asleep.

One of the projects Brad had in mind while we were up at the cabin, was to replace a rope swing that hangs from a gigantic pine tree in the back of the cabin.
So being the boys that these guys are, they worked on a little plan to get Brad safely to the top of this tree and he would work on knotting the new rope so a swing could safely hang from the branches he so delicately scaled.
I'm just glad Brad got down safe since there was really no way I was going to win at talking him out of climbing this tree. Here are the girls playing in the snow with Dallas.
I think poor Dallas had had it by the end of the day with the girls wanting her to do everything with them. Sorry Dallas! I hope we didn't scare you guys too bad away from having kids.

Happy Mother's Day!!

I hope everyone had a Happy Mother's Day! My day started with homemade Waffles by Brad. They were super yummy and absolutely perfect. Then of course we had to hurry and get ready to go to church by 11am. The only thing that may not have been quite perfect was the fact that Brinly was too shy to go up and sing with rest of the primary kids. I didn't want to force her to go up but I was a little bummed. The rest of of the children looked and sounded great though! Maybe next year. We ended church with the traditional flowers being passed out by the youth to all qualified mothers. Those are always fun to get. Brad and I enjoyed a nice quiet afternoon watching the Jazz game while the girls all had a two + hour nap. I called my mom to wish her a Happy Mother's Day and then we went over to Brad's parents house where all the guys pitched in to make dinner for a few of us moms.
That was nice not to have to cook or clean up (the one day a year that I don't have to). Dinner was absolutely wonderful by-the-way guys! We proceeded into the living room and exchanged gifts for all the moms. Brad surprised me with this picture which he put some time of his own and a little of his crafty self went into it as well. I was very impressed! Thank you honey. He also gave me some sconces to go with a picture of the temple that he got me for Christmas. When I get that hung I'll show what those look like. Over all it turned out to be an awesome Mother's Day, thanks to my Husband who makes it that way. I Love you, Brad!

Backyard Catastrophy

So we had a little issue yesterday that had to do with the main pipe for our sprinklers. I happened to go out back cause the girls wanted to play with some bubbles.
Next thing I knew I was starring at a mound of grass that had been lifted from it's roots by some massive amount of water. I called Brad to tell him that maybe a sprinkler pipe broke and told him of this mound. I don't think my telling him did much because obviously pictures don't do this "thing" justice.

Within an hour of discovering the first mound a second one had formed and more water had flooded our backyard.
Now for those of you who know how wide our backyard is these pictures only show roughly half of our backyard. Luckily only this half got flooded and not the other side because who knows what would have happened. (House flood???) By the time I actually took these pictures I had been instructed on turning off the main water flow to our sprinklers and this mound you see dropped about six inches or so.

Once again these pictures don't do this mound justice, but hopefully you get the idea of our excitement yesterday. Thanks to Brad (who happended to get off early), my brother-in-law Aaron, and our neighbor James Dotson (who after work at 5:30pm was able to bring a small pump to pump the water out to the street) we have been able to atleast start the process of drying it out. Thank goodness our neighbors yard didn't get too much water in their yard. I really don't want to imagine what could have happened had I not atleast discovered it when I did. I only wished I would have known what to do sooner. Oh well!

So I'm super sorry I haven't kept my blog updated. I seem to think that I need pictures to give me an excuse to post but I know I don't. So for those of you who are wondering what's going on with my pregnancy, everything seems to be on the up and up so far. I am counting down the last five weeks. If everything stays good then we'll just be taking things as they happen. Does anyone have any suggestions how to get through the last five weeks a little quicker? Oh well, as long as I'm feeling good for the most part, I shouldn't be complaining.

Down One

So this next week I am down one kid. My family came through on their way to Disneyland and decided to take Brinly along. Brooklin and Madison were beside themselves after she left, but now they're doing better. It does seem to be a little quieter without her but we're going to miss her for the few days that she'll be gone.

So for the last little while I have been wanting to make a blessing dress for our almost here, not yet named, little girl. This last week I cracked down and just went to it. It took me one full day to complete but here it is. It's nothing super fancy but I was quite pleased how it turned out. Especially when I was sort of improvising and adjusting it to how I wanted it to look.

So I guess you can say that I am officially 3/4 of the way done with this pregnancy. I am definitely feeling pressure from myself to get things done because anything could happen from here on out. We have been at it since last Tuesday, and besides a few accidents from the night time, the girls are doing really well during the day. These deep sleepers of mine sleep right through it! So sorry it's been a few weeks since the last post. I thought I'd update with a few of the activities we did leading up to Easter Sunday. At the start of the week we colored eggs with the girls for family night. We had a fun time. I think the girls had a fun time especially when their eggs dried so they could add Princess stickers to them. GIRLS!

Annual trip to Phoenix

So sorry we haven't posted for awhile. Where ever February went! We thought we'd update everyone on where we just got back from. A few years back Brad started a traditon with his brother and father to go down to Spring Training for Baseball (the Cubbies to be exact). It just so happens that they train in Phoenix, only six hours away. The last two years now the girls have been invited. This year our group was a little small because everyone had other priorities that had to be fulfilled. So It was our family and Aaron and Lisa. Yes the kids came! We drove down on Thursday Feb. 28th and went to a game on Friday against the Cubs and the Giants. We had great seats that shielded us from the sun and it put us just to the left of Home plate. The highlight of the day was when our neighbor at the game caught a foul ball and wrestled for it only to turn and give it to Brinly. Brinly wasn't quite sure what to do with a used, dirty ball but was smiling from ear to ear when he gave it to her.

On Saturday, Brad and Aaron went to another baseball game and Lisa and I took the kids to the Zoo. The girls loved all the animals but Brinly wasn't a huge fan of walking.

Towards the end of our adventure was a petting zoo where you got to pet goats. The girls were diggin' the goats since all they did was sit there and let you pet and groom them. What a life!

Brooklin's Fat Lip

So Brooklin decided to test out how well she would bounce if she jumped out of her chair at the table. Realizing not quick enough that tile isn't so good to bounce off, Brooklin ended up with a fat lip and a bloody nose. Hope that will be the last!

Red Rock Canyon

We decided on Saturday that after Brad got off work we would go down to Vegas and stay the night with Brianna and Owen then go hiking up at Red Rock Canyon on the far west/central side of Vegas. This is a little hike we took the kids on to a small waterfall.

So sorry I haven't posted for a few weeks. I can't say that I've been super busy but we haven't really had anything too exciting to post. We did spend a couple of days with Brianna and Owen. They came up from Vegas with their kids for Rylee's b-day and we went up to Cedar City to go sledding. That was fun once the kids were able to run on solid ground right before we left. (Ha Ha Ha!)

So here's our attempt of enjoying the snow for a few hours. We decided to go up to Cedar Canyon for a few hours on Saturday and have some fun snow moments. The girls weren't too sure about it but Brinly and the rest of us had fun.

Some of us decided to get a little crazy and go down in a train. What a rush!

The girls finally warmed up to the snow a little. They basically played it safe with Grandma and Papa.

Well, here she is! Yep you read right, baby girl #4. I guess we can look at the bright side in that we don't have to start all over with buying all new things. So in a way, we're saving money?? We're still excited just slightly let down. We got our hopes up so high that there was, for a moment, slight disappointment. Now that means Brinly will more than likely get her room back and we don't have to re-paint. Yea!!!

Brad and I are going in for our ultrasound this Friday. We're asking all of you out there to keep your fingers crossed for us that this is a boy!!! We'll keep you all posted as to what we're having.

The weekend after Christmas the rest of the Stapley group came down to visit and Grandpa arranged a 4-wheeling activity for everyone to enjoy. Brad was particularly excited because we got to test out a Rhino. (Of which he has been trying to get me on one for almost a year now.) It was a little chilly but we had lots of fun!

Christmas was fun. We spent the night at Grandma and Papa Stapley's home and woke up to the pleasant surprise that Santa did indeed find up this year. Brad ended up being the biggest kid of all by waking everyone up. I think the toys that struck everyone's fancy were Brooklin and Madison's mini Dora 4-wheelers. Even Brinly and Taylee were enjoying them while the rest of us had fun watching.

Well we hope this new year is finding everyone healthy and happy. I know it's been a few weeks since our last post so I'll start off by letting you all know that Brinly is now five. She thinks that she's super big. She got a big bike for her birthday and learned how to ride it that day.

In case you all haven't heard we are going to have another baby. Well let's hope it's only one!! I am about fourteen weeks and already am starting to feel extra bloated. We're excited and are hoping for a boy but we'll see. We'll keep all of you posted. Fingers crossed for some sort of a sex change around here. All the Estrogen is started to take a toll on even me. Too much drama!!

So it's been a little while since I last posted anything. Here are some pictures of the girls on Halloween. This year was the first year we actually carved pumpkins with the girls and they weren't quite sure about the gushy/slimy stuff in the center. They all pretty much left it up to Brad and I to do the dirty work. What's up with that? We had fun just the same.

These are a few pictures from our recent vacation to Disneyland, if you haven't already picked up on that!!! We spent four days in beautiful California three of which were enjoyed at the "Happiest place on Earth". Brinly couldn't wait to ride Splash Mountain (her favorite ride) next to just about every other ride. She's already making plans for our next trip. The girls (Brooklin and Madison) seemed to enjoy themselves as much as possible that is. Towards the end, they started warming up to the Princesses. C-Rella is Maddie's favorite.
